The English Linguistics Society of Korea (ELSOK, formerly the Korean Society for the History of the English Language) is a scientific organization devoted to the study of English language. For the advancement of the English linguistics, the historical and philological studies of the English language is also adopted. Established in 1993, it now serves nearly 400 personal and institutional members worldwide through organizing and sponsoring biannual conferences, scholarly meetings, and publishing biannual journals and newsletters. It is listed in Korea Research Foundation, and is a recognized member of Korean Association of Academic Societies.
