Cho, Dong-In. 1999. A Head Movement Analysis and Selectional Relation. The Journal of English Grammar 3.2, 87-96. This paper treats the long-distant selectional relation between a selector and selectee. This paper first examines Gimshaw's (1991) 'Extended Projection' theory and proposes head movement of a selectee to a selector at LF for the feature of selectee to be checked off. In this analysis the classical local relation between the selector and selectee can be replaced by the head-movement analysis of feature and the feature check-off. Developing Svenonious(1993)'s head movement of feature, this analysis further incorporates the selectional relation between a thematic noun and its light verb. (Seoul National University of Technology
